10 Signs You Are Wasting Your Life

Welcome to another edition of practical knowledge and common sense. In this episode, you will be informed of certain easily neglected signs which are indicators of time wasting. Straight to the points:

  1. TIME TRAVEL

Dwelling on the past changes nothing. You achievements of yesteryears are gone if you care to understand; so are your mistakes and regrets.

Worrying about the future at all times will not let you do anything worthwhile at the moment. So, friend, time travel should exist only in fiction. In real life, you deal with real time.

  1. SNOOZING YOUR ALARM

Dude, if you want to sleep, sleep. Babe, if you want to wake up, the wake the help up. Snoozing your alarm every 10 minutes is an epic waste of time. You neither get good sleep nor do anything productive. In fact, you don’t need a bloody alarm. Period!

  1. SCROLLING SOCIAL MEDIA FEEDS ENDLESSLY

Have you really reached the bottom of your Facebook feed, for instance? You cannot – unless you have may be 2 friends. So stop playing around reading tasteless irrelevant gossip from the lives of folks you don’t know, haven’t met, and may never meet.

The same applies to checking your phone every 5 minutes. Lord oh Lord! This is another epic time waster and very few people know it.

  1. TRYING TO CHANGE PEOPLE

You will fail because you can’t. So don’t. We need drunks if teetotalers and responsible drinkers are to be respected. We need. We need fools if wisdom is to be appreciated. Beyond this, you have no right to try to reconfigure anyone to your way of thinking.

  1. ENGAGING IN ARGUMENTS

It doesn’t matter what the topic is. If it’s not in the law court or government house, it is probably a waste of time. You end up making people feel bitter especially if you have superior logic. So why not just enjoy their headache as the prattle endlessly. For those who argue, life is tragedy; for those who observe the argument, life is endless comedy.

  1. NOT PURSUING YOUR DREAM

Lol. Even your bones will wail in regrets  on end. Do not listen to the criticism of people; it is most likely they are not busy doing anything worthwhile themselves. I mean . . . a busy person does not observe frivolities. And hey, the ability to pursue dreams decrease as you age.

Once you heat 30, your natural gas tanks drops below half. You will only have to answer to yourself, kids and maker, much later.

  1. NOT BEING A MORNING PERSON

Not getting excited about getting up the next morning is one of the most critical signs that you could be wasting your life. Waking up without any excitement about your job, school, career or plans does not make you any better than people in coma. Be honest.

  1. SLEEPING TOO MUCH

In 2018, the day is no longer enough to pursue dreams. We now have to steal a few hours from the night. If in the face of this urgency, you do not feel the need to make the most of your daily 24 hours, very clearly, you are wasting away. Enough said.

  1. YOU ARE NOT WORKING TOWARDS ANYTHING

In my opinion, this is the single most dangerous sign that you are wasting away. Lord!!! How do you sit by counting the days and weeks and months without having a project in hand. Student or employee, you cannot just be going to class every day or going to work every day believing you are doing anything. Yea. You are. But that’s a routine that you were meant to follow.

What else are you doing? Are saving towards buying something of worth? Are you looking to read 20 books before the year ends? Are you composing a new song? Are you planning to start a side hustle?

By not working towards any goal in life you are telling nature “Hey dude, guess I’m out of ideas. You may take now” Damn! Don’t be a disgrace!

  1. LIVING THE DREAM OTHERS EXPECT OF YOU

Excepting folks like Falz, Dr Sid and their likes, who lived the dreams of their parents and still have the time to pursue their successfully, the majority of people who live life to please society wind up in regrets.  Even the people I cited in the preceding sentence somehow regret the time wasted before the success.

The reason is simple. You may fool everyone (not possible anyway) but cannot fool yourself. In the course of my research for an upcoming title, I have come across many old people who society consider successful, but who expressed their disappointment for not living “their own” lives.
